Despite a 14-year low in GDP growth due to manufacturing and export challenges, private consumption remained robust. Inequality remained low by global standards, but the gender income gap persisted. Looking ahead, per capita disposable income and consumer expenditure are projected to grow, albeit at a slower pace than the Asia Pacific average.
