Bolu is a Senior Consultant with a focus on food and nutrition consulting projects, especially those that intersect with agribusiness and international development. She led the multi-donor, Pathways gender study, researching women’s economic empowerment across 13 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Agriculture and various subsectors were a primary focus for the study.
Based in Chicago, Bolu has 13+ years experience spanning banking and financial services, academic research, and now, market research/consulting. Bolu advises public and private sector clients across a range of industries in both developed and developing markets. She also has a special interest in strategies and interventions to improve food accessibility and affordability, especially for vulnerable groups.
Bolu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Nigeria, and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Development Studies from the Netherlands and South Africa, respectively.
