When we think about sustainability, we often think about reducing environmental impact, and the beauty and personal care industry has been mainly focused around just that. Strategies for the industry include refillable packaging, environmentally friendly packaging and reusing by-products in formulation. However, not all BPC companies are focused purely on the environmental pillar of sustainability. Companies like Gillette have also adopted the "purpose over profit" mantra by donating masks and hand sanitiser to national healthcare institutions. Additionally, Old Spice ran a campaign focused on the impact of COVID-19 on minority communities, and Bravo Sierra contributes 5 percent of their sales to community support programs for US military members and veterans.
