LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Global market research company Euromonitor International has been invited to speak at Shoptalk Europe 2023, taking place 9-11 May 2023, at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain.
Partnering for the 2nd consecutive year with Shoptalk Europe, the leading European event for retail and ecommerce innovation, Euromonitor is pleased to deliver a keynote presentation on “The Analyst Perspective on inflation and Other Economic Forces Shaping Retail” to discuss the state of the economy and what this means for consumers and retailers. The session will feature detailed insights from Michelle Evans, Global Lead of Retail and Digital Consumer Insights at Euromonitor International, who is a familiar face for Shoptalk delegates, with more than 10 years of experience in the industry.
“I look forward to speaking on May 9 at Shoptalk Europe about the impact of inflation and other economic forces shaping retail and specifically what retailers and brands can do to help shoppers navigate this period of economic uncertainty to garner their long-term loyalty”, says Michelle Evans. “Although a global recession is not expected as part of Euromonitor’s baseline scenario, the threat remains top of mind for consumers, leading them to be more methodical with their money. Shoppers must decide between paying more for everyday essentials, trading down to lower-cost alternatives or foregoing items entirely. Consumer retention becomes more challenging in these moments.”
Shoptalk is widely known for organizing retail's best and fastest growing events, and bringing together thousands of industry changemakers to collaborate at unparalleled scale across a broad. Euromonitor is honoured to be collaborating with Shoptalk which operates online and offline use cases and innovative new formats, including Tabletalks, Hosted Meetings and Meetups.
For five years, Shoptalk has defined the retail industry’s community of innovators by bringing established retailers and brands together with direct-to-consumer and tech startups, large tech and Internet companies, among others, and for the first time, they are introducing an on-site crèche at Shoptalk Europe this year, making it easier for working parents to network, learn and conduct business during the event.
