Over the forecast period, off-trade volume growth of RTD coffee is set to accelerate relative to the review period, when it suffered severely from the markedly changed conditions of the COVID-19 crisis. With less dramatic inflation and less significant unit price increases past 2023 and 2024, the category is expected to see moderate off-trade value growth over the forecast period.
The brand offer is set to improve in RTD coffee over the forecast period as specialist coffee shops’ geographic presence continues to expand outside of the capital, Skopje, and their consumer reach becomes more significant. This is set to further boost the demand for RTD coffee and compensate for the contraction of the consumer base due to population decline, which is already impacting more mature soft drinks categories.
E-commerce sales of RTD coffee are set to double by the end of the forecast period as the channel continues to expand organically and reach out to a greater pool of potential consumers. Due to competitive logistical costs, the delivery of coffee products (including RTD coffee) purchased online is seen as economical and not so expensive.
