Olive pomace oil, obtained by pressing olives, is a product that is gaining increasing popularity among Italian consumers. Very often considered a by-product of olive oil, pomace oil has very interesting characteristics that make it an interesting product in its own right.
Over the forecast period, olive oil consumption is expected to be influenced by various factors, both geopolitical and purely agricultural. The success of olive harvests is closely linked to the weather conditions, which could become increasingly unpredictable and possibly less favourable due to the impact of climate change.
E-commerce has been gaining ground in the distribution of edible oils for several years in Italy and over the forecast period it is expected that this trend will continue with even more people set to buy these products online. Many companies are setting up their own e-commerce platforms to sell their products directly to the consumer, while others are relying on the well-established platforms of companies such as Amazon.
