Similar to other countries in Asia, almost all of Taiwan's edible oils face challenges in adopting sustainable packaging, unlike other cooking ingredients. The primary obstacle is the absence of affordable and scalable materials for safely storing edible oils.
The demand for retail sales of edible oils is anticipated to rebound as consumers re-engage in travel activities in 2023, along with a resurgence in dining out. This shift is attributed to the prolonged trend of home cooking during the COVID-19 pandemic.
